Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!
I am thrilled and honored to be a part of the Sahuaro community. Sahuaro is an amazing place where students are at the heart of every decision we make and every action we take. It has always been my desire to be a part of a school that truly believes that all children deserve to be in a place that makes them feel safe and happy; a place where dynamic learning opportunities are at the forefront and children's efforts are recognized and celebrated. It is also important to me that all children and adults feel welcome as soon as they walk through the doors of our school.
As the very proud principal of Sahuaro, I believe it is important for all children to know me and trust me. That is why you will see me all over campus; out front for parent drop-off and pickup, in the cafeteria, on the playground, in the halls, and in classrooms. I’m very easy to spot as I usually am wearing my bright orange vest!
I encourage and invite you to become involved in your child’s education and our school. There are so many opportunities: volunteering for classrooms; supporting our library; joining the PTA; becoming a member of our Site Council; as well as attending our grade-level and school-wide events, to mention just few. Please visit our school website frequently for announcements and updates on our school calendar!
Meet the Teacher is scheduled for Thursday, August 7, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. At this event you will receive your child’s classroom assignment and any other information you will need before the first day of school. This evening provides students with an opportunity to meet their new teacher and to become familiar with their classroom environment.
Please review the safety procedures for student arrival and dismissal prior to the first day of school. A handout will be provided at Meet the Teacher.
The Sahuaro staff is ready for another exciting year of learning! We look forward to welcoming our new families and seeing our returning families. It is going to be a great year for the Sahuaro Eagles!
